And with the Porsche 918-esque Sport Hybrid setup, you get a 400hp AWD full-size sedan with a well-balanced V6 engine and Japanese build quality.

I sat in one at an Auto Show. The front seat was comfy as fuck, but the back seat was also very nice.

This car is an overpriced turd and everyone knows it. I worked in sales at an Acura dealership and we would sell 2-3 each year.

Not just in America. I could buy Japanese cars made in the UK (Honda, Nissan, Toyota), France (Toyota), Spain (Nissan), the Czech Republic (Toyota), Thailand (Toyota) and probably more.
Not many mainstream Japanese models come from Japan unless you’re in the Far East.

Now I kinda want to get a modern Acura and put the JDM Honda badges on it.
I hear the TSX is nice.

I have odd feelings for Acura. They make attractive cars for attractive prices with attractive features, but something feels hesitant about them. Same with Infiniti. Perhaps I’m just spoiled by Lexus.

There are a decent amount of cars I’d rather drop 60K on than an RLX.

4:3 scale Accord at 2:1 price. Maybe a good used purchase, it’s bound to be endlessly reliable. Also, 20 headlights.

I get the TSX in the UK as the ‘Honda Accord’.
It even comes as a wagon.

I owned two of the old-man-S-class look-alike 3.5 RL’s (2002 and 2004) and I loved both of them. They were both reliable as hell and over built in the same vane as the Lexus LS. Build quality was through the roof. The 3.5 V6 was a peach of an engine and had some components in common as the NSX. When they went to the new styling in 2005 it seems like they went in the complete opposite direction as what the goal was with the original Legend/RL. To me, they have never recaptured the spirit of the old cars.

I had a Legend Coupe with that same 3.5 V6. It was indeed an insanely well built car. I liked it a lot.

It’s cool, but most people just pass it off as just another large family car, it’s just that this one is rare.
Accord and rare in the same sentence? Yep. Since the 2000s, Japanese cars suddenly lost a bit of popularity over here.
These days the Fit is more common than the Civic and the Corolla got replaced by the ‘Auris’ in 2007. So yeah, apart from all the cool imported cars (no 25 year rule woo), I think America has a much bigger selection of Japanese cars anyway.

My thinking was more along the lines of getting a Honda grille and badges for a TSX. Many people seem to be unaware that Honda and Acura are one in the same.

I’d own another one, but, my biggest issue with the car albeit petty, is the OEM Nav screen is so dated and ugly by today’s standards. Worse yet, the climate controls are built into the screen so it cannot be replaced with an aftermarket unit.
